Marco di Ioia Roman Bath Simulation

1 comment:

  1. This video is an attempt to explain the roman bath complex functioning, the fire warm smokes canalization flowing under the floor, trough the suspensurae, then up trough the cavity wall and finally out from the chimney. The final part of the video is dedicated to the warm water flow, from the boiler over the praefurnium to the bath. For 3d modeling and animation I used 3d Studio Max, starting with a laser scanner optimized low-poly model of Livia's villa bath. To simulate the smoke flow I used many animated particle emitters linked to splines paths, then animated cameras and materials, after rendering compositing was made in After Effects.
